Trovi is a program which acts exactly like browser hijacker. It changes the home page of your browser into trovi.com. When you decide to open a new blank tab of your browser, you will still see Trovi instead. This is why many users find Trovi as a very annoying application. No doubt, they want to get rid of it, and this guide will help you to do it in an effective way.

Trovi browser hijacker

If your browser is hijacked by Trovi, you will see a lot of annoying advertisement banners displayed in the home page of your browser hijacked by it, and very many sponsored links shown together with the search results redirected through trovi.com. The sad but true reality is the fact that Trovi is an absolutely useless search engine, which can’t provide users with any relevant information they might look for. On the other hand, Trovi provides users will all sorts of such annoying ads and sponsored links, which may redirect users to other third-party websites. These websites, in their turn, could infect your PC even more with tons of other unwanted or even malicious applications.

Trovi is distributed actively today through being integrated with other free applications. For example, you might decide to install some PDF converter, or MP3 player, or some sort of video codec whatsoever. When you find some of these programs offered to be installed and used for free, you still need to be very careful in the process of their installation. There are many free applications today with their installers offering other absolutely useless applications to be brought into your PC. Trovi is just one of such unwanted programs, and there may be many other examples of such applications you definitely do not need or want.

Some users with PCs infected with Trovi try to remove it from the home pages of their browsers manually. They change the home pages back to google.com, or other search engines they prefer, but the problem is that after restarting the browser they still see Trovi again and again. This is all because Trovi browser hijacker is protected by Search Protect, another application classified as a potentially unwanted program. In order to remove Trovi users first need to delete Search Protect completely.

Search Protect CtlMngSvc.exe

You can see Search Protect PUP in your PC by its main active process called CtlMngSvc.exe. If you open your Task Manager program and see CtlMngSvc.exe as the running process, this means that Search Protect and Trovi are in your computer. Their removal can be done either automatically or manually. This guide below contains instructions for both automatic and manual removal of these useless applications from your computer.
